Eat Right Now, Keep It Off Later
By AprilCas
A lot of people are becoming concerned about their weights. In the past, only women were vocal about their desire to lose weight. Now, there are also a lot of men who are becoming more and more conscious of their body size. Probably they were concerned about their weights in the past, but it is only now that they are becoming vocal about it. Because of this increase in the number of people wanting to lose weight, many products are now being introduced. When you surf channels, you will surely see advertisements about weight loss in home tv shopping networks. You will also find these ads in internet shopping sites and beauty and health magazines.
But if you will look deeply into these weight loss plans, you will find out that most of them will convince you to deprive yourself of some important nutrients that your body needs.
There are diets that will tell you eat less carbs. Others will ask you to throw away fats. We need carbs and fats for energy. We need to have enough strength to help us do our work well. There are also diets that will ask you to forget about proteins. But we need protein for growth and repair of damaged body cells and tissues. These diets are not healthy. They may help you shed off some pounds for a while but they may also make you sick. What you need is a diet that will help you lose weight but still keep you healthy. What you need is an eating healthy weight loss plan to succeed.
Here is what you need:
Eat frequently and never skip meals. You are free to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can even have meals in between. What you need to watch out for is not the number of meals you eat but the amount of food you take in. Take small meals at a time.
Count your calories. Choose food that will give you less calories. There are nutrition books that list down the calories a certain portion of food gives. You can also check them out in product labels. Your calorie intake must be less than what you can burn. Often a 1500 calorie diet plan works for many, but yours may be less or more depending on your size and metabolic rate.
Have all the food groups in your diet. Do not miss out any food group so you get all the nutrients that your body needs. You can choose nutrient sources that are less fattening. For example for your protein needs, you can have chicken breast and fish instead of red meat. For your fats needs, you can use olive oil instead of margarine.
Eat lots of vegetables and fruits. They contain vitamins and minerals for your body processes. They are also good sources of antioxidants to prevent certain health problems like cancer.
Drink plenty of fluids especially water. Water flushes away toxins. It also maintains normal body temperature.
Eating healthy foods will work better than other low this or low that diets. Other diet plans will show results in its initial stage, but you gain them back again later on. A healthy weight loss plan will make you lose weight and maintain it since it becomes part of your lifestyle. So just eat right now and keep those excess pounds off later for a lasting effect.
